Lauki Ka Halwa

Lauki/Bottle Gourd halwa is a traditional Indian sweet or dessert made with fresh red carrots, milk and sugar. An all time favourite for any occasion.

  1. Wash Lauki thorougly and peel them and Grate them to medium thickness
  2. Take a heavy bottom pan, add the lauki,milk with saffron dissolved in it. Cook on medium heat until all the milk is absorbed.
  3. Add ghee, cardamom powder anf fry keeping flame medium for about 5 minutes stirring continously.
  4. add sugar and stir for another 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved.
  5. Add Khoya and keep cooking until the ghee starts coming up or the mixture starts leaving the sides.
  6. Garnish with desired Almonds , Silver foil leaf and serve warm
